During its pre-production testing, Taycan covered a total distance of 3,425 kilometers. The test is carried out in Italy at the Nardo high-speed track. Taycan is going to debut on September 4.
First Electric Vehicle by Porsche
Taycan is Porsche’s first electric vehicle. Porsche is working on its EV from quite some time now. And finally after looking at Taycan, we can surely say the wait was worth it. Taycan has proved how good it is for long distance drives. At the temperature of 42 degree Celsius with approximately 54 degrees of track temperature, its speed was between 195 and 215 km/hr. The only interruptions it had during the test drives were for quick charging and driver changing. For the test drive, Porsche hired 6 drivers. This was a quality test for hot climate and its durability.
The Taycan mastered this ambitious endurance run without any problems. The result achieved in Nardo highlights are the advantages of the unique 800-volt technology and its high maturity level. Taycan is coming in the market by the end of the year. Before the launch, we will have covered over six million test kilometers across the globe.

Nardo Technical Center, Italy
Since 2012, Porsche Engineering Group GmbH is operating Nardo Technical Center in Italy . It has 20 test tracks. The high-speed circuit measures for about 12.6 kilometers. The renovation of the center is completed in mid-July. On the tracks, an innovative crash barrier system is installed.
For the new Porsche EV, it takes less than 3.5 seconds to reach from 0 to 100 km/hr. It has a system voltage of 800 volts which is the first of its kind. It will reduce the charging time and also helps in reducing the weight of the vehicle.
Porsche’s new car is coming with all impressive features. Finally, it is coming by the end of this year. Porsche is surely taking things to the next level.
